Tobacco Control Laws

1998 Master Settlement Agreement (MSA):

The MSA imposes restrictions on tobacco marketing, advertising, and promotion in the United States. The agreement was originally between the Attorneys General of 46 states, the District of Columbia, the five U.S. territories, and the four largest U.S. tobacco companies: Philip Morris, RJ Reynolds, Lorillard, and Brown & Williamson. The 2009 Family Smoking Prevention & Tobacco Control Act (Tobacco Control Act):

The Tobacco Control Act gives the Food & Drug Administration (FDA) the power to regulate the sale, manufacture, and distribution of cigarettes and smokeless tobacco in the United States. Click here for additional details.
