FTS has assisted former participants with the following objectives:
 
  • Helping others overcome drug, alchohol, tobacco, and other addictions and/or to end unhealthy/abusive relationships
  • Developing culturally appropriate education & prevention materials
  • Creating and/or enhancing programs, presentations, fact sheets, and/or other educational materials
  • Providing youth and community education
  • Conducting community outreach and community mobilizing
  • Developing, implementing, integrating, and/or supporting new policies
  • Educating and providing recommendations to community leaders, policy makers, litigation attorneys, and various legal counsels for federal, state, and municipal policies and regulatory approaches to protect the public
  • Creating, enhancing, and/or conducting retail assessments to expose disparities in access to tobacco products
  • Identifying, monitoring, and reporting 2009 Family Smoking Prevention & Tobacco Control Act and 1998 Master Settlement violations at retail
  • Providing comprehensive retailer education that includes devising action plans with retailers to reduce and/or eliminate tobacco advertising and youth access to tobacco
