Memoir Exposes Predatory Tobacco Marketing Practices

In Corporate Bullying Saved My Life: Overcoming Life's Challenges, La Tanisha C. Wright does what no other tobacco marketing executive has done before: She covertly helps public health leaders and Attorneys General end a predatory marketing campaign and sue the Big Tobacco Company that she works for. During her efforts to protect the public, her ex-boyfriend places her in a dangerous, life-changing situation. She plummets into depression, and is haunted by memories of her past and the spirit of suicide.

She resigns from the tobacco industry and continues to combat the tobacco epidemic. As she matures into a renowned public speaker, she receives death threats and suffers unbearable heartaches. In an effort to overcome, she uses her experiences with Big Tobacco as a platform to start her own business. In a strange twist, federal public health officials conspire to impede her mission to protect the public from vulturine tobacco marketing practices.
La Tanisha chronicles a lifetime of abuse and bullying, and the subsequent journey of grieving, forgiving, and healing.

"The first chapter of your book was so powerful. It was very difficult for me to read, because it evoked so much memory and sadness...I cried for you and me."
-Dolores C. Thomas, Colorado

"You are an outstanding writer. The book was wonderful. I could not put it down! I felt your pain. My husband thanks you for the shoutout on page 182. He is a great man and tries to live what he preaches."
-Anonymous, Texas

"I was so sorry to read about the challenges and mistreatment you have experienced in your personal and professional life...what you have experienced, what you are doing now, is not unlike the work of Dr. King and others- who display great courage and stand up to those who are perpetuating injustice."
-Anonymous, Wisconsin
"I'm on chapter 3 and this book is deep. I have to make myself put it down so I can go to sleep."
-Ebeni Shands, Georgia

"Your book really touched my spirit. I am thankful for you sharing your experiences. I pray your book be an inspiration to someone that daily faces trails as you experienced, and that they see God will take care of his children. I read your testimony in 2 Corinthians 4:8-10, especially verse 9, which says, 'Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed.' May the Lord continue to guide you."
-Pastor Rickey Williams, Texas
"La Tanisha, your memoir was FANTASTIC! I laughed! I cried! I cheered you on, I thought 'I need to write down that quote, or poem' and I struggled to put the book down. I thought, 'This is a great piece of writing! No, wait this is her LIFE!' Then I felt sad for the rough struggles you've gone through. It helped to make the book great, but it's tough to think you had to endure so many hard things. Then I would think, 'but look what it's helped her to become.' And I am in awe...It made me reflect on my own life, and made me grateful for the life I have been given and the blessings I can now see. I haven't had the challenges you have had, but I found myself really relating to the book...I loved that you opened up and shared the experience of feeling God's love and angels near you, supporting, comforting, and lifting you up...And to be able to look back and see how God had answered your prayers was very special...The pages were certainly stained with tears...And your amazing power to endure, is encouraging that I too will overcome if I just keep trying."
